Profile: Dr. Robert Anderson

Robert B. Anderson is a Professor with the Faculty of Business Administration of the University of Regina. Prior to joining the faculty, Bob spent ten years with the First Nations University of Canada. He has a Ph.D. in regional economic development (geography). Bob also has an MBA and is a Certified Management Accountant. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and made many conference presentations on economic development and entrepreneurship. He is the author of two books on the subject, co-author of a third and co-editor of a handbook research on indigenous entrepreneurship. More recent work has expanded to include corporate social responsibility, intellectual property mobilization in universities and sustainable development.

Bob is the editor of the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, the regional editor for Canada for the International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, an associate editor of the Journal of Aboriginal Economic Development, an associate editor of the Journal of Asia Entrepreneurship and Sustainability and a founding editor of the Journal of Enterprising Communities.

Bob is the past president of the Canadian Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship and a past Director of the International Council for Small Business. He is currently a Director-at-Large with the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) and Chair of the ASAC National Conference to be held in Regina in May 2010. The theme of the conference is Enterprising Our World: Sustainable Business in Action. Following the conference Bob will become ASAC President for 2010-2011.
